Let’s say I take a Trump Immigration Speech given in the
summer of 2016, but “massage” the text by changing just a few words---
“The fundamental problem with the [real estate] system in
our [city] is that it serves the needs of wealthy donors, political activists
and powerful politicians. Let me tell you who it doesn’t serve! It doesn’t
serve you the [Oakland] people….”
“We have to listen to the concerns that working people have
over the record pace of [gentrification] and its impact on their jobs, wages,
housing, schools….
“We also have to be honest about the fact that not everyone
who seeks to join our [city] will be able to successfully assimilate…
Countless [longtime Oakland residents] who have [been priced
out] in recent years would [be here] today if not for the open border policies
of [The Schaaf, Quan, Brown] administration
While there are many [gentrifiers] in our [city] who are
good people, this doesn’t change the fact that [real-estate developers] draw
much more out from the system than they will ever pay in.
But those facts are never reported
Anyone who tells you that the core issue is the needs of
[those who don’t live here yet, but are able to pay $3,000 a month for a
one-bedroom apartment] has simply spent too much time
[in Silicon Valley, Hollywood, Wall Street or Trump Tower]
Number one: we will build a wall [around Peidmont, on top of
the Oakland Hills! In the San Francisco Bay that should be called The Oakland
Bay!)
….& keep out the criminal cartels, and [Goldman Sachs,
Google, Uber and Bloomberg] will pay for it!
